MobiLuck’s mobile social networking service does not require Bluetooth to work. You can use it wherever you are in the world, independent of operators and phone model. For those with capable phones however, there is a downloadable application that allows us to perform the same location triangulation as Google does.

Bluetooth social networking was a new thing 4 years ago when Nokia and MobiLuck launched their first products. But Bluetooth is simply an additional connection on your phone that may or may not be used to enrich a much wider reaching social networking service.

But by then I’ll be miles away. What’s the point in that?

I want something to ping me and say “That guy standing opposite you on the Tube reads TechCrunch too and was at that Tom Middleton gig you went to last week.” At the same time it buzzes him, we both look at our phones, look up again, then, slightly embarrassed, strike up a conversation about deep house and internet startups.
