Strong European growth for Google
by Mike Butcher on March 10, 2008

Stats from US search engine marketing firm Efficient Frontier shows that the European market, where Google dominates, showed very strong growth in February 2008, with advertiser spend on Google in the UK up 69% and more than 100% in the rest of Europe. In Q4, Google reported that 48% of its revenues came from outside the US, with 14% of total revenue from the UK. The “rest of world” was at 75% growth. In other words the strong UK and Europe data could offset the US market deceleration a bit. However, since this is a single US search engine marketing firm which only started marketing in Europe a year ago the figures should be viewed in that context.
