Howard/Baines launches FriendFeed application

AlertThingy, the Adobe AIR desktop application for FriendFeed that TechCrunch previewed last month, has just launched. It was created by UK strategy/development house Howard/Baines, better known for building the platform for the ill-fated BlogNation, and corporate sites for the likes of Faber Music and Reuters.
TechCrunch US has the story on AlertThingy, one of the first applications built on the new FriendFeed API, which allows users to see the data stream from people they follow on FriendFeed, post new messages to the service, comment, bookmark and search. Sobees is another desktop FriendFeed application, but unlike cross-platform AIR applications, it’s Windows-only.

Definitely my favourite way to consume lifestreams of my friends so far.
Would be cool if you could Twitter from it as well as post to FriendFeed. Am now running both Twhirl and Alert Thingy so getting many people’s Twitters twice..
